Fourth draft design for film poster and analysis




The film posters title of “Repression” suggests that someone has a repressed memory and is emphasizing the psychological element to the film. The main image is multi layered as it shows a man sitting down looking depressed, infornt of the number 11.57. This raises the question is he number the memory that the man is repressing. The poster suggests that it is a psychological thriller .Which is firstly suggested through the title of the film and is secondly suggested through the emotional state of the main character. The film star is expressed in the main image. Dominic Williams is presented in the centre of the film poster. His facial expression indicates to the audience to have sympathy towards him. The film producers and directors names are Alex tipping and Steven Rogers. However they are not well known. Form this film poster the audience are being treated to a serious film which is evident towards the expression of the main character Dominic Williams. The target audience for the film appears to be mixed gender. This is by having masculine colours and showing the main character emotional state. The USP for the film poster is emphasizing the emotional state of the main character. This is unique it is usually a female who you relate to be in an emotional state.
